House Rules

1. Guests must familiarize themselves with the information binder and the rules posted in the cabin, particularly regarding the use of the bio-toilet and open flames. The fireplace should only be used with firewood.

2. Guests must leave the cabin and the surrounding area clean and tidy. Cleaning supplies can be found in the bathroom. We handle the main cleaning of the cabin, but the following tasks must be completed before check-out:

– Bed linen must be removed and placed on the floor between the kitchen and dining table.

– Dishes must be placed in the dishwasher and started before departure. Ensure that there is at least 30 liters of water remaining in the tank before starting the machine.

– The area must be tidied up so we can quickly begin the cleaning process.

3. The water in the sink is not drinking water. Guests must bring their own drinking water.

4. Water containers for refilling can be found in the service building. We provide 20L of water per stay; guests are responsible for any additional water. Water containers and a funnel are available in the service building if guests wish to refill extra water themselves.

5. Guests must monitor the water level to ensure the pump does not run dry or overheat. We fill the water according to municipal regulations. The outlet under the refridgirator where the water pumup is must be unplugged if the tank runs out, until it is refilled.

6. If there is spillage beyond normal use, such as wine spills or vomit, guests are responsible for cleaning it up. A fee may apply if we determine negligent use of the cabin has resulted in damage to the interior or similar.

7. Waste must be sorted and taken with you upon check-out. Trash bins are located by the parking area.

8. Clean the grill and any other equipment after use.

9. Shoe storage is provided at the entrance. Please use the mat/shoe rack there.

10. Feel at home, but remember that you are borrowing a cabin that someone else will want to use after you leave. Leave the cabin in the same condition as it was upon your arrival.

This is included in the rental price:

  • Electricity and gas usage

  • Duvets and pillows

  • Candles and tea lights

  • Toilet paper, paper towels, dishwashing liquid, cloths, and some basic supplies.

  • Firewood and kindling materials

We have followed Norwegian building regulations, but there are a few things to be extra cautious about:

  • Children must be supervised at all times on the veranda or by the river. Climbing on the railing is prohibited.

  • The fireplace gets hot, and there are narrow passages—be extra cautious with children.

  • The rugs and floors can be slippery, even though there is anti-slip protection.

  • The ladder to the loft should be angled out from the wall when in use. It can be pushed back against the wall/pellet basket to create more space in the room when no one is on the loft.

  • Children must be supervised on the loft.
